Aim and scope

The growing importance of forests in an era of increasing public awareness, intensifying climate change, and rising anthropogenic pressure makes issues related to the functioning and management of forest resources critically important at local, regional, and global levels. Forests perform multiple functions – ecological, economic, social, and cultural – and constitute one of the most essential components sustaining life on Earth. Their role in biodiversity conservation, climate regulation, carbon and water cycles, as well as in providing renewable resources and supporting social well-being, makes forests a subject of intensive scientific research.

As a consequence of these changes, it becomes necessary to identify key areas in forest management that require in-depth investigation and the development of modern, science-based forest management strategies.
Forest Resources Management responds to these challenges by providing a forum for the exchange of scientific research results related to the broadly understood forest environment. The journal aims to integrate research conducted across various branches of forest sciences, with particular emphasis on issues related to forest resource management under conditions of dynamic environmental change.

An important element of the journal’s identity is its grounding in the tradition of the Kraków forestry research centre, one of the oldest and most significant forestry research hubs in Poland. The long-standing scientific achievements of this community, developed at the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Agriculture in Kraków, provide a solid foundation for the creation of a modern, international scientific journal oriented toward globally scaled research collaboration.
